Also known ascarousel post
A carousel is the social media format that groups several images or videos in a single post, swiped horizontally one slide after another.
Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn offer it both in organic content and in paid ads, where each slide can lead to a different page.
The carousel works because it splits content into steps and invites the reader to keep going: each slide answers a question and sets up the next, like the pages of a short presentation. It suits explaining a process, showing a product from several sides or telling a story in sequence. The first slide decides whether the reader swipes, so it carries the promise of the content, and the last one carries the CTA (the call to action).
An example
The case below is constructed, because the term does not yet appear in the articles. An industrial resin manufacturer publishes a LinkedIn carousel of eight slides that explains, one step per slide, how to choose the right resin for an application. The last slide invites readers to download the full technical guide, and whoever gets that far has already read the whole argument.
