Also known astest and reorder
Test and repeat is the method ultra fast fashion uses to decide what to produce: an item is put on sale in a small batch, its sales are measured over the first days and it is remade in volume only if the numbers justify it.
It is the method that made Shein known, and it is a close relative of the Lean Startup logic (try small, measure, decide).
It follows that inventory risk falls, because only what the market has already chosen is produced in volume; the price is fragmented production and constant pressure on suppliers.
An example
An accessories manufacturer launches ten colour variants of a bag online, a few dozen pieces each, and puts the full run into production only for the three that sell out in the first week.
