Glossary

Analytical Inertia

Analytical Inertia is the condition of a company that looks at the past in its reports and hopes the future will resemble it.

Enrico Giubertoni uses the term for reporting as an end in itself: dashboards that describe and do not drive action.

An example

A company launches three artificial intelligence pilots, each with its own dashboard, and none of them changes a decision: a new form of Analytical Inertia disguised as innovation.
