Xoom.com was a US free web hosting and online community service of the late 1990s, widely used in Italy too for hosting personal homepages.
In 1999 it was merged into NBC Internet (NBCi), the internet company of the NBC television group, and the free space faded out in the following years.
Today the name also refers to a PayPal money transfer service, which has no link to the Xoom of the 1990s.
