Also known asGoogle My Business
Google Business Profile is the free tool with which Google lets companies manage their presence on Google Maps and in Search.
It is the new name of the former Google My Business. The listing shows address, opening hours, category, website, photos, reviews and updates, and it appears when someone searches for the company or for a service in its area.
Management distinguishes two roles: the manager can edit information, answer reviews, publish updates and upload photos, while only the owner adds or removes users, deletes the profile or transfers primary ownership. The point that matters for local SEO (ranking in searches tied to a place) is consistency: the same address and details on the listing and on the website, together with geotagging of images, help Google connect the business to its area.
An example
An industrial paint plant with a trade counter open to professionals fills in its Google Business Profile with opening hours, category and photos: anyone searching for "industrial paint near me" finds it on the map with directions.
