Also known asEurope, Middle East and Africa
EMEA stands for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
It is the macro-region many international companies use to divide the world when organising sales, assigning responsibilities and reading results, alongside other regions such as the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
The acronym appears mostly in job titles, such as EMEA Sales Director, and in reports: readers know that the figure or the responsibility covers all of those markets, which remain very different from one another in language, regulation and buying habits.
An example
The site tells of a project started by a newly appointed EMEA Sales Director: a sales director responsible for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, who wanted to stay one step ahead by experimenting with new sales approaches.
