A tutorial is content that teaches step by step how to use a product or software, or how to complete a task.

It can be a video, a written guide with screenshots or an interactive walkthrough inside the product itself.

In marketing the tutorial belongs to the value content that improves product experience (what customers live through while using the product), next to guides, detailed FAQs and blog articles. It has a limit when the subject is broad. On artificial intelligence, the blog notes, "anyone working through their dose of conferences, webinars, presentations, mini-courses and tutorials on artificial intelligence knows the feeling: the more you listen, the less clear it is what to do." A tutorial teaches a gesture, and the decision on where to apply it stays with the company.

An example

A manufacturer of industrial scales publishes a four-minute tutorial on how to calibrate the instrument: customers solve it on their own, and technical support gets fewer calls on the simplest questions.
